Our Roth IRA

Below is a list of the actual holdings in our Roth IRA, along with the numerical percentage each position currently represents in our portfolio.

If you look closely, you'll notice some recurring themes. My wife and I tend to value well-branded consumer product companies.

Why?

Because these are the types of companies we feel most comfortable with. Being a consumer of the products sold by each of these companies, we believe we have a firm understanding of how each company makes money and how it intends to make money in the future.

Armed with this knowledge, we're able to "invest in our own area of expertise."

After taking a careful look at each company's balance sheet, income statement, and statement of cash flows, we feel each one meets the criteria for a long-term commitment.

You'll also notice that our overall portfolio is very focused - only five companies at the present time. And four of those five companies pay a regular quarterly dividend which has steadily risen over the course of many years.

By reinvesting our quarterly dividends free-of-charge, we're able to "contribute more" to our Roth IRA by accumulating fractional shares of the same great companies without having to make additional monetary contributions.

*At this time, Hansen Natural Corporation (HANS) does not pay quarterly dividends.

Hi, I'm Britt, and this is my wife, Jen. Welcome to our Roth IRA information website!

This is our humble attempt to turn a passion for personal finance into the Web's #1 resource for Roth IRA information. But, believe it or not, this site is more than just a hobby. It's a real business that provides a stable and steady stream of income for our family. In fact, because of this site, Jen is able to be a full-time stay-at-home mom and spend more time with our daughter, Samantha.

But you want to know the best part? ...You can do the same thing! Anyone with a hobby or a passion (even with no previous experience building a website) can create a profitable site that generates extra income.

If you're tired of solely depending on your job(s) for family income, click here now and learn why our income is increasing despite the financial crisis and how we're making our dreams come true.
