Roth IRA Websites

Like your library card, your Internet connection is one of the best investments you'll ever make.

On the Internet, a literal treasure trove of information exists on virtually every subject.

But just because a site has information, it doesn't necessarily mean that information is valuable...

A lot of bad advice and erroneous information is hosted on the web, right alongside some of the best advice and highest quality information.

So while I can't always help you separate the good from the bad, I can point out those websites I believe provide high quality information on Roth IRAs.

Below is a list of some of the best sites I've found...

RothIRA.com
www.rothira.com
RothIRA.com has all the latest news, articles, calculators, and IRS forms related to Roth IRAs. It even has a message board for users to discuss their Roth IRAs. As an added bonus, the site is categorized and focused without a lot of bells and whistles to distract from the learning process.

The site is sponsored by Brentmark Software, a company which provides retirement planning products and services for a variety of consumers. However, unlike most Roth IRA informational sites hosted by financial companies, you won't run into a host of offers to buy their particular products. A great deal of emphasis is placed on helpful, relevant, and up-to-date information.

IRA Online Resource Guide
www.irs.com
Read straight from the horse's mouth all the rules and regulations governing a Roth IRA account on the Internal Revenue Service's (IRS) website. This page contains links, a video, and a PDF of Publication 590, which provides an overview of setting up a Roth IRA as well as making contributions and withdrawals.

Fairmark.com
www.fairmark.com
Fairmark.com provides helpful information on Roth IRAs, 401(k)s, and 403(b)s. You can find articles, news, and a message board - all of which seek to aid people in the research of their best options regarding retirement and their retirement accounts. Authored by Kaye Thomas, a Harvard Law School graduate, the site also offers several books he's published on a variety of financial topics, such as the Roth IRA, stock options, equity compensation, and capital gains taxes.

Understanding The Roth IRA
www.moneychimp.com
This section of the Money Chimp website offers a sort of mini-tutorial on the Roth IRA. It's a quick and easy read, packed with some valuable tips and tidbits related to investing in a Roth IRA.

RothIRA-Advisor.com
www.rothira-advisor.com
This is the website of James Lange, CPA, JD, a tax, retirement, and estate planning attorney. Although the site seems overly geared toward touting his personal workshops and speaking engagements, a lot of free and valuable information on Roth IRAs can be gleaned from visiting his site.
